Montclair State University takes the Gold!

When great minds work together, amazing things happen. That’s exactly the case when Montclair State University and TWG Plus put their heads together.

Montclair State University and TWG Plus share a unique working relationship. TWG Plus isn’t Montclair State’s creative vendor; we’re an extension of their in-house team. Our designers and theirs work hand-in-hand to produce hundreds of creative communications each year.

This year, we are particularly proud of the undergraduate recruitment publications which took home a Gold Award for Total Recruitment in the 2015 Educational Advertising Awards.

The suite captures the spirit of the times featuring bold images, most prominently those of students taking selfies. In the publications we challenge students not just to capture themselves as they are, but to envision themselves where they want to be. We invite the reader to ‘express yourself’, ‘push yourself’, ‘equip yourself’ and ‘enlighten yourself’. That’s exactly what students do every day on Montclair State’s beautiful suburban New Jersey campus that sits just outside the Big Apple.

We appreciate the recognition of these publications and our deep partnership with Montclair State University. We will undoubtedly get together to soon celebrate. But, first…let me take a selfie.

Doing the Right Thing.

The final course prior to graduation, or Capstone, at St. Edward’s University in Austin is titled, Moral Issues in Society (Civic Engagement Emphasis).

None of us, at TWG Plus are ignorant of this way of thinking. Not a day goes by without hearing of someone promoting a cause. The team is consistently lauding schools(clients) for their global awareness, cultural engagement, or civic service.

We are all familiar with valuing others above ourselves. So when I was asked to write something about my riding the MS150 again this year, I jumped on the opportunity.
Anyway, Let’s beat MS!

Why I Ride

The first time I rode the 150 was to fulfill a personal challenge. When riding through Fayetteville a man in a wheelchair gave me a “high five” and told me, “Thanks for riding!” It was an emotional moment. I decided I would ride to fight MS every year. I believe in the work the National MS Society does and want to be an active part of it. I know I can count on your help.

Why I’m Moving Forward

Multiple sclerosis is a progressive neurological disease that affects people in many different ways. It could be paralysis one day, loss of vision the next or impaired memory the day after that.

Living with MS means living with uncertainty.

When it comes to MS, only three things are certain:

1. Another American is newly diagnosed with MS every hour of every day.

2. Many people are joining the movement toward a world free of MS – including me.
3. There is no cure for MS.

Let’s Move Forward Together

The Society organizes 100 rides nationwide. The funds they raise fuel research aimed at treating and eventually curing MS; they also provide crucial services for persons living with MS.

I’m helping the National MS Society move forward toward a world without MS and making a difference in the lives of 400,000 Americans with multiple sclerosis.

Please join me!

Last year the support of my co-workers pushed me well above my fundraising goal.

Although Central Texas didn't share in the snow this winter, it was still cold training in 35 degrees with 25 mph winds and drizzle.

Thank you!

My current fundraising is at 63% of goal!

Bloomfield Writes Their Winning Story

bloomfield_pub_8299-smCreating a great recruitment suite is about more than flashy design or catchy phrases. It is about finding the heart of an institution and sharing it in a way that makes the on-campus community say, “Hey, that’s us!” and prospects say, “Yes, I want to be there.”

Bloomfield College and TWG Plus were confident we achieved both when we rolled out the “Write Your Own Story” campaign last year. Recently, we learned that others agree. We are proud to share that Bloomfield College’s new recruitment publications won a Silver Award for Total Recruitment in the 2015 Educational Advertising Awards.

Receiving an award for our work is always nice, but knowing our clients are successful and satisfied is what makes our efforts truly worthwhile and rewarding. I had the pleasure of sharing the good news about the award recently with Adam Castro, Vice President for Enrollment Management at Bloomfield College. He responded with excitement, but not necessarily surprise:

“Our ‘Write Your Own Story’ brand is being so well received because TWG Plus helped us identify what makes Bloomfield College special and different. You built a brand around those unique attributes in a very organic way. The creative is just so strong and creates emotion in those that experience it. We are very proud of how positively this brand is resonating with internal and external constituencies. We are honored to have our partnership with TWG Plus recognized as exemplary higher education marketing.”

I can honestly say this back to Adam. Bloomfield College’s complete commitment to their students and investment in their individual success is inspiring. When you have that base to work from, it’s hard not to write a winning story!
